The Secret Beach — Manatsu Beach
Surrounded by nature in the Karimata area, Manatsu Beach is a beautiful and secluded spot with few tourists, offering a peaceful, private-like atmosphere.

Located in the northern part of Miyako Island, Manatsu Beach is a hidden scenic gem cherished by locals. After turning off Prefectural Route 230 and passing through fields of sugarcane, you’ll arrive at an untouched natural shoreline. At the entrance, you’ll encounter two natural rock tunnels.

The tunnel on the right is a popular photo spot with a view of Miyako Island’s famously clear ocean. Passing through the left tunnel, you’ll discover a quiet beach with hardly any tourists—an ideal place to enjoy a private, tranquil moment as if it were your own personal paradise.

Some areas have uneven ground, so wearing marine shoes is recommended. Note that this beach is not an official swimming area and has no restrooms or shops. If you choose to swim, you must do so at your own risk. Snorkeling is also possible, but be sure to stay safe while enjoying the stunning underwater scenery.
