“Enjoy coral reefs and tropical fish at this crystal-clear beach on Ikema Island.”

Funakusu Beach is a natural beach located on Ikema Island, perfect for observing coral reefs and tropical fish. With its shallow waters, excellent transparency, and gentle currents, it’s a safe spot even for families with small children to enjoy snorkeling. The best time for marine observation is when the tide is around 50 cm, allowing you to swim around the corals and watch colorful fish up close. While many corals near the shore have died, you can still find healthy coral formations further out.

Gradually gaining popularity among the beaches on Ikema Island, this beach was once known as “Ikema Block” due to the concrete blocks piled at the entrance. Today, the area has been cleared and improved, but the natural charm of the beach remains unchanged, continuing to attract many visitors.

A parking area is available for convenience, but please avoid parking on the roadside to prevent disrupting traffic. Funakusu Beach is highly recommended for those looking to relax in a beautiful natural setting.
