Irabu Bridge stretches 3,540 meters, connecting Miyako Island and Irabu Island.
While leisurely cycling along this stunning route, I had an unforgettable and unexpected encounter with nature.

Near the center of the bridge, I glanced down at the sea and saw a sea turtle swimming near the surface.
I’d heard that turtles are commonly seen around Miyako Island, but seeing one with my own eyes was truly moving.
Its slow, graceful swimming made me stop and watch in awe.

But that wasn’t all.
Moments later, I spotted a ray-like creature gliding along the sea floor.
Illuminated by sunlight, its shadow beneath the crystal-clear “Miyako Blue” waters looked magical — like a scene straight out of a movie.

I never imagined such a moment would happen from the top of a bridge, and it filled me with a mix of surprise and wonder.
