【30-Second Overview】
Located at the Nishizato Odori intersection in Miyakojima, Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining will reopen on Thursday, August 20, 2026, with a brand-new concept: “Kitchen Truck × Open-Air Dining.” A new kitchen truck has been introduced, along with signature dishes such as Aburi BBQ from ¥1,500 and the Okinawan Pork Ginger Plate for ¥1,980 (tax included). A selection of casual dishes and snacks to enjoy with drinks will also be available. The new space features 7 counter seats, 28 table seats, plus a standing bar area with tables made from oil drums. Enjoy food, drinks, and the warm Miyakojima night air in a relaxed outdoor setting.

A New Centerpiece: Our Kitchen Truck
One of the biggest changes in this renewal is the way we prepare and serve our food.
With the introduction of a new kitchen truck, Myakuzumi is evolving from a simple outdoor food spot into a place where guests can enjoy a more complete dining experience.
We have not simply parked a kitchen truck on the site. The entire space has been redesigned around it, including the seating area, lighting, roof, bamboo screens, and decorations, creating a new “Kitchen Truck + Open-Air Dining” concept.
It is neither a conventional restaurant nor simply a food truck. We want to preserve the casual atmosphere of outdoor dining while creating a place where guests can enjoy the food, drinks, and atmosphere together.

🔥 New Signature Dish: Aburi BBQ from ¥1,500
One of the highlights of our new kitchen-truck concept is Aburi BBQ, starting from ¥1,500.
The theme is simple: “Grilling the Best Flavors of Miyakojima!”
Our BBQ combines both meat and seafood, bringing out the aroma and flavor of each ingredient through grilling.
The selection includes shumai dumplings, Yanbaru chicken, Agu pork, Miyakojima Daifuku beef, shrimp, locally caught squid, sausages, and more. We also plan to expand our brochette-style menu over time.
Enjoy it with a drink on your own or share it with friends—it is set to become one of the new signature dishes of Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining.

🌺 Okinawan Pork Ginger Plate – ¥1,980 (Tax Included)
Another main dish joining the new menu is our Okinawan Pork Ginger Plate for ¥1,980 (tax included).
A generous portion of Okinawan pork is grilled until aromatic and coated in our special ginger sauce. It goes perfectly with rice and can also be shared as a dish to enjoy with drinks.
The key to its flavor is Miwano’s special ginger sauce, originally created in Akasaka, Tokyo, in 1978. This long-established flavor is now available here at Myakuzumi in Miyakojima.
Combining Okinawan ingredients with a flavor handed down from Tokyo’s Akasaka district is one of the ideas we wanted to bring to life with our new kitchen-truck concept.

Snacks and Casual Dishes Are Also Available
Aburi BBQ and the Okinawan Pork Ginger Plate are not the only choices. We will also offer a variety of casual dishes and snacks that pair well with drinks.
Whether you want a full dinner, a drink after work, dinner after sightseeing, or just one more drink before returning to your hotel, you are welcome to stop by.
Come for the food, come for the drinks, or enjoy both at your own pace.
From a Summer Festival to Open-Air Dining
The atmosphere has also changed significantly from our previous summer-festival-style setup.
Our new goal is to create an open-air dining space where guests can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Miyakojima.
The seating area is surrounded by traditional-style bamboo screens, with black tables and chairs throughout. At night, Orion Beer lanterns and warm lighting illuminate the space, while Myakuzumi flags and tropical plants line the roadside.
This is not a formal restaurant. It is a casual place where you can feel the Miyakojima night breeze, enjoy good food and cold drinks, and spend time talking with friends.

7 Counter Seats and 28 Table Seats
The new Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining has 7 counter seats and 28 table seats.
If you are visiting alone, the counter is an easy place to sit down for a meal or a drink. Couples, families, friends, and larger groups can enjoy the table seating.
The open-air setting creates a different experience from a conventional indoor restaurant and lets you enjoy the atmosphere of a Miyakojima evening.

A Standing Bar Area with Oil-Drum Tables
We have also created a new standing bar area featuring tables made from oil drums.
It is perfect if you only want one quick drink, have some time before meeting friends, or want to stop by for a casual drink before or after dinner.
You do not always have to sit down for a full meal. Drop in, grab a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere—that freedom is part of the new Myakuzumi style.

Everyone Is Welcome—from Solo Guests to Groups
A drink after work.
Dinner after a day of sightseeing.
One more drink before heading back to your hotel.
A ginger pork plate and a beer on your own.
Sharing Aburi BBQ with friends.
Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining is not limited to being just a restaurant or just a bar. We want both Miyakojima residents and visitors to enjoy the space in whatever way suits them.
Come for drinks, come for dinner—and solo guests are always welcome.

Group Dining and Private Events
Our open-air space is also available for groups and private gatherings.
Whether you are planning a get-together with colleagues or friends, or a group dinner during your Miyakojima trip, please contact us to discuss your requirements.
Our regular opening hours are 7:00 PM–11:30 PM (Last Order 11:00 PM), but reservations outside regular business hours may also be possible upon request.
Built Entirely by Our Own Hands
The new Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining has been built by ourselves without hiring contractors.
We leveled the ground, assembled the steel framework, installed the roof and bamboo screens, added the lighting, arranged the tables and chairs, and placed the plants and flags—all while building the new space around the kitchen truck.
Working from morning until night in the Miyakojima summer heat has been physically demanding. We have been careful to avoid heatstroke, but by the end of each day, we are exhausted.
On some days, the heat and sweat have meant taking four or five showers a day, changing clothes each time—and creating a mountain of laundry in the process.
Still, after every shower and change of clothes, it was back to work. Little by little, the new Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining has taken shape.

A Complete Rebuild Became an Opportunity for Something New
Ahead of an approaching typhoon in August, we dismantled the previous outdoor setup for safety.
Rather than rebuilding the same summer-festival-style space, we decided to use the opportunity to create something completely new.
That decision led to the current “Kitchen Truck × Open-Air Dining” concept.
For us, the dismantling was not the end—it became the starting point for the next version of Myakuzumi Outdoor Dining.
We Are Still Evolving
Although the new operation begins on August 20, 2026, this is not the finished version of Myakuzumi.
We will continue improving the lighting, decorations, seating arrangements, and other details as we learn from daily operations. We also plan to introduce more dishes using the kitchen truck.
Because we built this place ourselves, we want to continue developing it ourselves as we operate.
